§ We cannot guarantee hotel rooms after December 1st, but we'll do what we can!

§ There is a $50 non-refundable deposit per person due at the time of registration
(Deposit is transferable within campus group)
§ If no hotel room is needed, commuter registration is $80 per person, and deposit is $20

§ Fees include breakfast January 3rd -5th (even for commuters)

§ Married staff members who bring students to the conference are eligible to sleep 2 to a room at the 4 per room rate.

We will be staying at the Grand Hyatt, located at 1750 Welton St in beatiful downtown Denver!

Parking Info

There are three parking options, depending on how much you want to spend:

The Grand Hyatt offers valet parking in its garage for $12/day. With this option, cars can leave as many times as desired each day.

There are two parking areas quite close to the hotel:

  • Welton/16th St
    • 24 hour security (but slightly further away)
    • $10/weekday, $7/weekend
  • 1801 California St.
    • $10/day

 

These garages will allow overnight parking, but no "in and out" parking is allowed (you have to pay every time you leave).

For those who don't mind taking the train, Denver RTD offers transportation via the Light Rail for about $1.25 roundtrip per person. Cars could park at one of the many Park N Ride stops around Denver for free and meet us at the stop on 18th & California, just a block from the hotel. This is the website to the Denver Museum of Nature and Sciene. There is an exibit about the Titanic that will be there during the conference.

Skiing Info (last updated 11/6/07)

The Grand Hyatt is offering a discounted room rate of $79 per room plus 10.75% tax (whether single, double, triple, or quad occupancy) to anyone who would like to stay an additional day after the conference for skiing (through the evening of the 6th). If you plan to stay the extra day, please let us know.

There are several ski options in the area. Here are a few:

Loveland Ski Resort- www.skiloveland.com

  • Ski Pass is $54.00 per day age 15+, $24.00 for 6-14
  • Ski lessons $72.00 Half day includes lift pass, rental equipment and lesson
  • 45 miles from the hotel, about 1 hour drive time
  • There is a group rate for campuses of 20 or more and it brings the cost of lift tickets to $35 per day age 19+, $26 for 14-18 and $19 for 4-14. Check website for more details.
  • There is also a 4 pack of lift tickets you can purchase through November, 23 for $109 and can be used all in one day. Check out the details at: http://www.skiloveland.com/ticketsandpasses/4pak.aspx

Eldora Ski Resort- www.eldora.com

  • Likely the cheapest resort, although they do not yet have rates posted
  • 48 miles from the hotel, about 1 hour 15 minute drive time
